ATTENTION! Active Listening is a Two Way Street
Wednesday October 7, 2026 2:30pm - 3:30pm MDT
The Art of Active Listening takes listening from “uh-huh” to aha! in ways students actually respond to. This session shows how small shifts in how we listen can dramatically boost engagement, reduce classroom friction, and improve communication. Participants will explore fun, practical strategies that help students feel heard while learning how to truly hear others. You’ll walk away with easy-to-use techniques that work immediately with no extra prep or eye rolls required. Listening, it turns out, might just be your most powerful (and underrated) teaching tool.

The Human Advantage: Emotional Intelligence and AI-Assessed Durable Skill Development
Wednesday October 7, 2026 2:30pm - 3:30pm MDT
As technology accelerates, workplaces are demanding more than technical expertise, they require human skills that machines cannot replace. Emotional Intelligence (EI) has become a defining factor in adaptability, leadership, collaboration, and long-term workforce success. Yet, these skills have often been undervalued because they are difficult to measure and teach with precision.
This session introduces a new approach to strengthening and measuring these critical human capabilities through AI-powered Durable Skills Assessment. Participants will explore how emotional intelligence, adaptability, communication, and self-awareness can be both developed and measured using intelligent tools that provide actionable insights. This session bridges the gap between human-centered skill development and cutting-edge assessment technology to better prepare individuals for the future of work.

Increase Enrollment and Outcomes With a Data-Driven Program Design Plan
Wednesday October 7, 2026 4:00pm - 5:00pm MDT
Effective college and career readiness begins with awareness, and must advance rapidly and intentionally into targeted, high-value instruction. Rockingham County Schools in North Carolina is successfully using data to understand the CTE pathways students most desire, using this information to build programs that attract learners and support career readiness in high-demand employment sectors.

The district has uncovered useful strategies for designing a dedicated CTE high school, using informative outreach to increase enrollment, and helping students make informed decisions about pathways and courses. In this session, presenters will share how:

• Assessment and pathway data informs the district’s decisions on which programs to implement
• Early career exploration is embedded into the middle school curriculum
• Tailored course offerings align with students’ interests and workforce needs

CTE administrators who attend this session will leave with fresh ideas and actionable next steps to improve postsecondary outcomes for all students, regardless of their plans.

The Power of Eduthings: Connecting Programs, Performance, and Possibility
Wednesday October 7, 2026 4:00pm - 5:00pm MDT
This session explores how Eduthings helps education leaders move beyond isolated data points to build a connected, strategic view of program performance, student outcomes, credential attainment, and workforce alignment. Participants will see how integrating these data elements into one cohesive ecosystem allows districts and institutions to make informed, proactive decisions rather than reactive ones.
District administrators, CTE directors, program coordinators, data specialists, and institutional leaders will benefit most from this session—particularly those responsible for accountability, program improvement, and strategic planning. Whether you oversee multiple campuses or manage a single program, this session will provide clarity on how to transform data into direction.
Attendees will leave with practical strategies they can immediately apply in their roles, including how to:
  • Identify performance trends and opportunity gaps
  • Align programs to workforce and funding priorities
  • Use data to strengthen improvement plans
  • Communicate impact effectively to stakeholders
The session will be highly interactive, incorporating guided discussion, real-world case examples, and live dashboard walkthroughs. Attendees will have opportunities to examine sample scenarios and practice interpreting insights for decision-making.
Participants will receive access to:
  • A session summary
  • A curated list of Eduthings tools and resources to support implementation
By the end of the session, attendees will not only understand the power of connected educational data—they will have a concrete framework and tools to begin applying it immediately within their institutions.

What Would Your Community Miss If Your CTE Program Vanished?
Wednesday October 7, 2026 4:00pm - 5:00pm MDT
Most CTE programs are far stronger than their communities realize. The programs have evolved, but public perception hasn't caught up, and many families, students, and taxpayers still picture the shop class of a generation ago. Left unmanaged, that outdated assumption becomes the brand, quietly shaping enrollment, funding, and political support. This session helps CTE and district administrators diagnose the gap between what their program has become and what their community assumes it still is, then close it. You cannot do that by talking more about yourself. Strong reputations are built by your community talking about you. Through real examples, a live diagnostic exercise, and group discussion, you will learn to measure what people actually believe and turn that into action. You will leave with a perception audit worksheet you can use immediately, along with a framework for building community advocates who will spread your story for you.
