About me
Dr. Alisha Hyslop has spent 25 years working in career and technical education and is
currently the Chief Policy, Research & Content Officer at the national Association for
Career and Technical Education. At ACTE, Alisha leads the organization’s policy,
advocacy, research, program implementation and professional learning strategies to
ensure educators across the CTE system have access to tools, resources and
educational opportunities that enhance their ability to offer high-quality CTE programs to
every learner. She has particular expertise on the Carl D. Perkins CTE Act and ACTE’s
High-quality CTE Initiative. Alisha received her Bachelor’s in public relations and Family
and Consumer Sciences Education from Florida State University, her Master’s in Career
and Technical Education from Virginia Tech University, and her Ph.D. in Career and
Workforce Education from the University of South Florida, where she developed specific
knowledge of program evaluation and has served as an adjunct instructor.
