About me
I am a product of CTE, I was in Agriculture and Television Production Courses in high school and went on to major in Agriculture Education & Communications in College. I began my teaching career in 2005 teaching Agriculture at the middle and high school level. During my time teaching agriculture I was also working on my Masters Degree in Agriculture Education from the University of Florida. After teaching for several years, I then moved to work at Florida Department of Education as the Agriculture Specialist and also served as Florida’s FFA State Advisor. Seeing the work involved in the politics and policies surrounding public education, a decided to earn a Masters degrees in Political Science and Public Policy from Florida State University This helped me to navigate the policy decisions that were shaping CTE in our state. In 2016 I returned to Volusia County to work in the district CTE office. During my time in the CTE office I worked directly industry certifications and CTE data for the district. I joined the iCEV team in 2023 as their Director of CTE Strategies and have been a part of their content team working on expanding Eduthings, and working with the content team on special projects.
