About me
Angie Collins began serving as the Director of Teaching and Learning in the summer of 2022 and has spent more than three and a half years contributing to the department’s mission of strengthening Career and Technical Education (CTE) across Great Oaks. Angie started her career with Great Oaks in 2005 and has held a variety of instructional and leadership roles that span multiple campuses, beginning with ten years as a science instructor at Scarlet Oaks and later serving as Assistant Dean of Instruction at both Diamond Oaks and Laurel Oaks, as well as Dean of Instruction at Diamond Oaks. Angie is a passionate advocate for CTE. Angie and the rest of the Teaching and Learning team are dedicated to expanding high‑quality programming and increasing access so more students can connect with meaningful career pathways. Her work centers on ensuring instruction is aligned not only to technical and academic competencies, but also to durable skills such as communication, critical thinking, adaptability, and professionalism that students need to thrive in the workforce. Angie is committed to building the systems and supports that empower instructors to deliver exceptional learning experiences, including resources for curriculum design, assessment, technology integration, credentialing, BIAC engagement, CTSOs, and work‑based learning, as well as initiatives that strengthen enrollment and retention.
