About me
Patrick Brown has extensive experience designing and implementing research-based CTE programs. He currently leads the biggest apprenticeship program tied to CTE in Missouri which has been recognized by the governor and garnered local, regional, and national accolades. To supplement his experiences in CTE, Patrick has written 5 books explaining the importance of instructional sequence and 4 big variables for learning. His most recent book, 2025, is called the Explore-before-Explain Guidebook for Science Education: Creating High Quality Lessons for the Classroom and Professional Learning. Routledge. In addition, he has developed these ideas through collaboration with Jay McTighe and Rodger Bybee, each accomplished educators and scholars.
