LaTasha Merritte is a dynamic professional with over two decades of comprehensive experience in senior-level administrative, financial, and leadership roles. With a proven track record in enhancing processes and boosting productivity in deadline-driven environments, LaTasha excels in developing innovative solutions to complex challenges. Her tenure includes impactful positions such as the Director of Operations and Special Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer within the Baltimore City Public Schools, where she demonstrated exceptional skills in budget management, human resources, and strategic planning across substantial budgets and teams. LaTasha's commitment to excellence is further evidenced by her role in the development and implementation of union contracts and human capital matters, highlighting her adeptness in negotiation and personnel development. Over the past two years, LaTasha has led the oversight of the district’s apprenticeship and internship program, one of her most meaningful career achievements. Under her leadership, 14 students have been hired through the program, creating a sustainable internal pipeline from the “Grow Your Own” initiative. This effort has successfully placed students in critical fields such as maintenance trades, HVAC/mechanical services, and transportation, strengthening the workforce while advancing opportunities for youth. Equipped with a bachelor's degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland and multiple certifications from the International Facility Management Association, LaTasha embodies a blend of strategic vision and operational expertise.
